Survived by: Children, Gale Linden (spouse, Alice) of Kimballton, IA, Byron Linden (spouse, Janet) of Moville, IA, Jody (spouse, Dave) Jones of Edgerton, KS, and Janet (spouse, Phil) Graves of Bovill, ID; 21 grandchildren; 72 great- grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ellen Linden and Betty Thomson; brother-in-law, Howell McClure; nieces; nephews; other family members and friends

Education: Attended and graduated from Tennant (IA) High School, Class of 1948. After high school, he attended Dana College, Blair, NE, for 1 year. He later attended the University of Iowa, completing a BA in Science Education in 1959. He earned an MA in Science from Arizona State University in 1963.

Religious affiliation: Member of and taught Sunday School at Calvary Baptist Church, Avoca, IA

Military service: U. S. Marines, from 1952-54, during the Korean War

Marriage: Dorothy Thomson; April 16, 1954; Calvary Baptist Church, Walnut, IA

Employment: After completing his education, Dewey taught science in 3 schools in Iowa: Marion (1959-67), Southeast Polk (1967-69), and Elk Horn-Kimballton (1969-92). He retired from teaching in 1992. After that, he worked with his son, Gale, as an electrician's helper for many years.

Hobbies/Interests: Enjoyed craft/woodworking projects; being very apt in mechanical skills, he assisted his children in many home projects over the years.
