Religious affiliation: Active member of each church attended as thee family moved around Iowa: the Methodist Church in Turin and Sioux City, the Christian Church in Sloan, Morningside and Harlan, the Church of Christ in Holly Springs and Atlantic and Christ’s Church in Harlan.

Employment: After leaving school, Lois worked at a Onawa (IA) café for a time; then, during the following summer, Lois and Dorothy Domina roomed together and detasseled corn. That fall she moved back to Turin, IA, and got a job working at the restaurant for a few months. After her marriage, she was a farmer’s wife and raised their children. She later ran a daycare for 20 years.

Hobbies/Interests: Enjoyed gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, playing solitaire, doing word searches, puzzles, and reading Christian books; crocheted baby blankets for any new baby that came along
