Education: Graduated from Spencer (IA) High School, Class of 1978; he went on to earn his undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in Computer Science from Iowa State University. Later, his commitment for his faith led him to pursue becoming a catholic priest. After becoming a deacon, Dan enrolled at the University of St. Thomas and graduated from there on May 20, 2016.

Employment: Dan's first career was excelling as a Computer Programming Consultant before the world knew what that was yet. Simultaneously, he was a Computer Science Professor at Simpson College, Indianola, IA, teaching others. After deciding to pursue another calling as a priest, once he was ordained, he became an associate pastor at St. Anthony’s in Des Moines, IA under Msgr. Chido. Father Dan has been with St. Joseph's in Earling, IA and St. Peter's in Defiance, IA since early in 2019, and in 2021 he became pastor at St. Michael's in Harlan, IA.

Hobbies/Interests: Growing up, Dan loved collecting and assembling trains and as an adult, one of his greatest joys was vacationing by riding trains across the country.
