Employment: After finishing high school, she worked at Farner’s Department Store in Harlan, IA; Mary Ann worked at Head Start Daycare and cooked for the Earling (IA) Senior Center meal site; started work doing laundry at Little Flower Haven Nursing Home, Earling, IA, until she completed necessary classes and then became the activities director; she and Virgil were instrumental in founding St. Joseph’s Parish Bingo and continued to participate weekly for many years

Hobbies/Interests: Loved music and would play the piano after church on Saturday evenings and have her family sing along; also enjoyed reading; loved Christmas; made the best cinnamon rolls; was always present to support her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their activities.
