Clem Murfield, a young man 25 years old, died in an autombile near Bevington yesterday evening while being taken to a hospital in Des Moines. Murfield was run over by a team while shucking corn for Frank Arnold on the old Shore Callison farm south of Winterset.

Murfield had come from Harlan where he lived, only a few days ago. He was employed by Frank Arnold, who lives on the farm, to shuck corn. Three teams were in the field, Murfield's team in advance of the others. One of the back teams was frightened and ran off. The men behind shouted to Murfield who was slightly deaf to get out of the way, but he did not hear them. It is supposed that he was struck on the back by the wagon tongue, the wagon passing over him. He was picked up unconscious and hastened to the house where Dr. Ayres, of Lorimor, attended him. The physicial found that the man's back was broken and several ribs crushed in.

Murfield was placed on a cot and Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Smith who own the farm, started with him for a Des Moines hospital. The man was yet unconscious when they reached Winterset and died near Bevington.

Nothing is known about the young man here, except that he is a horse trainer. The body will be sent to his family at Harlan today.
