Education: Graduated from high school in Knoxville, IA, Class of 1944, where he participated in many sports, including track and field. After his military service, he enrolled at Simpson College, Indianola, IA, and obtained his degree in Education in 1951. Ted obtained his master’s degree from Wyoming University, earning it during the summer months between teaching years.

Employment: Began teaching Career at Elkhart, IA and Pacific Junction, IA before finally arriving at Harlan (IA) High School in 1955. He coached basketball and track and assisted with football during his early years at Harlan. He retired in 1987 after 32 years of service with Harlan High School.

Hobbies/Interests: Organized youth baseball in Harlan, IA during the summer. In later years, Ted started the baseball program at Harlan High School. Ted enjoyed baseball and spent most of his summers for years as American Legion 7th District Chairman, promoting youth baseball.
