Survived by: Wife, Lana of Mason City, IA; sons, Todd Eagen (spouse, Valerie) of Cedar Falls, IA, and Kyle Eagen (spouse, Beth) of Westminster, CO; daughter Lisa Eagen (spouse, Amy) of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Allison, Caroline, Miles and Norah; sister, Camelia Lahart (spouse, Mike) of Peoria, IL; brother, Tom Eagen (spouse, Cara) of Fleming Island, FL; nieces; nephews; other family members and friends

Education: Graduated from Exira (IA) High School, where he excelled in athletics, academics, and music; he then attended Buena Vista University, where he played quarterback on the football team and first base and their baseball team. He completed his master’s degree at Iowa State University and served as a Graduate Assistant football coach under Johnny Majors and Clay Stapleton.

Employment: Teacher and football coach at Harlan (IA) Community High School; as a football coach, Terry started the program at South Hamilton High School, Jewell Junction, IA, led Harlan High School to its first State Championship title in 1972, and led Marshalltown, IA to their first Big Eight Championship in 1977, soon followed by a second winning year in 1980. He served as the Harlan High School Athletic Director for 1 year and as Vice Principal at Oskaloosa (IA) High School for 1 year. He was then Principal at Oskaloosa High for 13 years, and at Manly, North Central for 4 years. He served the member schools of the IHSAA for 10 years as a member of the Board of Control, as well as serving as President of the Iowa High School Football Coaches Association for 1 term. Was also very active in the local and national chapters of The Fellowship of Christian Athletes during his career. Upon retirement, Terry spent 5 years as a counselor at YSS (Youth Social Services) Francis Lauer in Mason City, IA, working with troubled youth.

Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, particularly short day trips; enjoyed photography; refinishing furniture; building dollhouses and birdhouses; loved music, playing the banjo, listening to records, and singing in the church choir.
