In 1963, she was the first woman Rural Letter Carrier in SW Iowa and retired 25 years later from the U.S. Postal Service

Hobbies/Interests: favorite things to do while growing up were playing cards in the winter and playing baseball in the summer; member, Panama American Legion Auxiliary Post 601; taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) at their church parish; member, St. Mary's Panama Alter Society; loved to go to all the kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events; loved to travel to see family and spending time with them; enjoyed watching football, baseball, and college basketball on TV; loved playing cards; loved going to the casino; loved to cook and bake
