Employment: After high school graduation, Kevin was employed at Vickers Hydraulic Plant, Omaha, NE. He took electrician and air conditioning schooling and then began working for Ferrell Gas, delivering propane to homes in Council Bluffs, IA and Omaha. Next, he moved to Colorado in the 1980s and lived in Conifer and Greeley, CO, while continuing to deliver propane for Ferrell Gas. In 1990, Kevin took 1 year off from trucking and spent it in the Central American city of Belize with 2 friends with a dream of starting a resort; it did not come to fruition. He came back to the States and his older brother, Lonnie, gave him trucking lessons so he could truck long distance. He began with Double S Trucking, Avoca, IA before moving on to Navajo Trucking out of Denver, CO; he ended up trucking with Crete Carrier Corporation in Lincoln, NE and remained with them for 25 years. Kevin received a “1 million career miles” award for his miles logged and his commitment to safety and service while driving for Crete. He retired in 2016.
Hobbies/Interests: Loved to play golf, hunt, fish, ride his motorcycle and time spent with family and friends. He particularly enjoyed time with his classmates whenever they got together for a reunion.
