He continued his education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, graduating in 1975 with a master’s degree in public administration.

He later returned to Omaha and married Jeanne Kwapiszeski and began working at Mutual of Omaha as a Systems Analyst. Next, he became a Project Manager/Technical Advisor for Research & Systems Development at Enron. He continued his career as a national defense contractor working for Vanguard Research and BAE Systems, among many others.
