Religious affiliation: Baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church, Manilla, IA and was a member until she married. Later, she was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Audubon, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Employment: After finishing high school, she relocated to Omaha, NE and was employed by Boys Town. After her children were a few years old, she began working at the Friendship Home in Audubon, IA as the activity’s assistant, a job she loved doing for more than 30 years. After her retirement, she would continue to volunteer there. In addition, she cleaned the Iowa State Extension Office for years.

Hobbies/Interests: Was a Blue Bird Troop Leader when her children were younger; loved having coffee and socializing with the girls; enjoyed puzzles and playing Skip-Bo; loved to bake, especially cookies; enjoyed sewing and crocheting afghans
