Funeral services: Friday, May 22, 2020; Harvest of Hope Church (formerly First Assembly of God), Harlan, IA; burial was in the Harlan Cemetery, Harlan, IA

Survived by: Wife of 47 years, Beverly McCreary of Harlan, IA; daughters, Rebekah Mether and Elizabeth (spouse, Jay) Harrison, both of Missouri Valley, IA; sons, Bill (spouse, Susie) McCreary of Colorado Springs, CO, and Bobby McCreary of Harlan, IA; four grandchildren; other family members and friends

Predeceased by: Parents, Clarence and Nellie (nee Wilson) McCreary; 1 brother; 1 sister

Education: Attended school in Corydon, IA, through Grade 10 before enlisting in the U. S. Military

Religious affiliation: When he was 10, Jerry received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Baptist church

Military service: Enlisted in the U. S. Air Force; served active duty as a Staff Sergeant (E5) in Vietnam; served his country for 8 years

Marriage: Beverly Jean Geerdes; March 3, 1973; Bloomfield, IL.

Employment: After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he became a long-haul truck driver, and enjoyed the “alone time” on the road. Due to disability, he later had to retire from trucking.

Hobbies/Interests: loved to spend time hunting and fishing with friends
