Education: Attended Saint Rose Catholic School in Croston, NE for several years and then at country school, as the family moved to other farms. She attended Holy Trinity High School in Hartington, NE and graduated in 1944. Mildred had earned a Certified Rural Teachers Certificate and was only 15 years old when she began teaching.
