Military service: Enlisted into the U. S. National Guard Reserve

Marriage: Doris Rohe; June 6, 1987; St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Earling, IA

Employment: Farmer, eventually taking over his father’s farm together with his brothers; in addition, he also worked various other jobs including trucking, seed sales, grain merchandising, and custom farming. Besides traditional row crops, Charles grew popcorn and raised cattle and hogs for over 40 years.

Hobbies/Interests: Enjoyed going to tractor pulls and playing Euchre; he also enjoyed TV shows like Walker Texas Ranger, Chicago PD, Wheel of Fortune, and about any western movie. He particularly enjoyed family events, and being son Scott’s personal coach for the Special Olympics.
