Lucille Anna, daughter of Peter and Anna (Jacobsen) Petersen, was born July 31, 1921 on the farm near Kimballton in Audubon County, Iowa. She attended rural school near her home and then attended high school at Kimballton.

On March 26, 1946 she was united in marriage with Merle Winther at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimballton. To this union, a son Curtis was born.

Lucille was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and cleaned the church for many years. She was a dietary aide at the Baptist Home and Salem Lutheran Home for a total of 28 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, cooking and baking and playing cards. She also took pleasure in her handiwork.

On Sunday, December 15, 2019, Lucille passed away at Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa. She was 98 years of age.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Merle; son Curtis; parents-in-law Nora and Ludvig Winther; and brothers-in-law: Don Bivians, Arnold (Thelma) Winther, Julius (Alice) Winther and Harold (Alice Winther).

She is survived by her sister-in-law Esther Bivians of Hemet, CA and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
