Employment: After completing high school, she was a was a live-in housekeeper for Dr. Patterson, DVM, in Minden, IA. After her marriage, she was a farmer’s wife for 20 years until she took a job as a cook at the County Home in McClelland, IA; in 1978, she opened her own cafe in Neola, IA; over the years, she worked at several restaurants. In 1994 she started working at Oriental Trading Company before retiring in 1999.

Hobbies/Interests: Was previously named Farm Bureau Woman of Year
