Religious affiliation: Baptized at and a member of Irwin Church of Christ, Irwin, Shelby County, IA; was a member of the church's "Men’s Quartet." Actively served in various ways, including the roles of Treasurer for more than 45 years and as an Elder.
Military service: Drafted into the U. S. Army and served his country from 1955 to 1957.
Marriage: Patricia (Pat) Wiley; June 23, 1957; location not provided
Employment: After completing school, he returned to Irwin to work with his father at Steenhusen John Deere Implement. He returned to work here again after his military service. He then spent 27 years working for Jacobs Corporation in Harlan, IA, and he also farmed the family farm for 10 years.
Hobbies/Interests: genealogy, his own and with helping others do research; musically gifted, playing the piano and singing; loved time spent with family
