Education: Attended country school through Grade 8, and then graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Panama, IA, with the Class of 1960. She furthered her education and graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Council Bluffs, IA in 1963 and became a Registered Nurse.

Religious affiliation: Baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Panama, IA; member, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Portsmouth, IA, and was involved with the Altar Society and taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) for several years. In 1990, she and Ken moved to Harlan, IA and they became members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church there, where she joined the Ladies Guild.

Employment: Was employed at a physician’s office for 1 year after graduation, and then became employed at Myrtue Medical Center where she remained until she retired in 2002. During those years, she also worked for Iowa Western Community College as an instructor in their Nursing Program.
