After his retirement, Elmer worked as a maintenance man for Sacred Heart Catholic School and Regency Retirement Center in Boone, IA.

Hobbies/Interests: was known as ‘Mr. Fix It’ by friends and neighbors because he enjoyed working on small engines; enjoyed dancing, playing cards, watching sport events on TV, and socializing with friends; member, V.F.W. Post #817 of Boone; member, Knight of Columbus Leo Council #814
