Employment: During his school years, he worked for various farmers in the area. After graduating from high school, Daryl worked at Western Iowa Pork in Harlan, IA. After his military service, Daryl returned to work at Western Iowa Pork until the plant closed in 1974. For the next 2 years, he worked at various jobs before being employed at the Shelby (IA) Elevator, for 18 years. Daryl next spent 8 years as an over-the-road truck driver for McNabb Trucking. Following his time in that position, he worked for Nebraska Machinery, Omaha, NE, for 16 years. Most recently, Daryl hauled grain for Stamp Hauling.

Hobbies/Interests: Liked to fish, hunt deer (black powder), and play golf; was a NASCAR fan who also liked to attend races at the Shelby County Speedway. Member for 33 years, Shelby American Legion Post #240, Shelby, IA; member, 16 years, Shelby Volunteer Fire Department
