Johnson of Harlan, IA; step-grandson, William (spouse, Linda) Steinman of Emerson, NE; step-granddaughters, Kathy (spouse, Darrin) Schnepel of Forney, TX, and Kristine (spouse, Greg) Gillilan of Wausa, NE; step-great-grandchildren, Tiffany Schnepel, Paige Steinman, Piper Steinman, and Derek Gillilan; step-great-great-grandson, Amari Schnepel; other relatives and friends

Education: Attended Monroe #4 country school (Shelby County, IA), and graduated from Harlan (IA) High School, Class of 1938

Religious affiliation: Baptized at the Altamont Baptist Church in rural Shelby County, IA, in June 1934, and was a member of that congregation for the remainder of her life; had served as clerk of the church for many years, and also sang in choir and for weddings and funerals. She taught Bible school as well as the Jr. High Sunday School class, for years.

Marriage: Gaylord Ivan Johnson; June 28, 1939; Cuppy’s Grove, Shelby County, IA

Employment: Mildred and Gaylord farmed in the Cuppy’s Grove area, Shelby County, for several years before moving to Gaylord’s parents’ farm in Jackson Township, Shelby County, IA. They lived there for 20 years before moving back to Cuppy’s Grove. Mildred and Gaylord later resided at Peace Haven in Walnut, Pottawattamie County, IA, for 5 years, and then in Assisted Living in Avoca, IA. Most recently, they have been residents of Avoca Specialty Care in Avoca, IA

Hobbies/Interests: Member, Meet Your Neighbor Club and Happy Home Club in Cuppy’s Grove, IA; they enjoyed traveling and spent winter months in Apache Junction, AZ, for 27 years; loved music, and played the organ and harmonica
