Education: attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, Panama, IA through high school; graduated with the Class of 1940. She then continued her education by attending Mount St. Scholastica College in Atchison, KS.

Religious affiliation: Baptized in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dunlap, IA; was confirmed in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Panama, IA. She was commissioned an “Extra Ordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist” by Bishop Dingman in 1971, and enrolled as a Benedictine Oblate in 1986. Margaret was a substitute catechist for St. Michael’s Faith Formation classes, as well as a member of the St. Michael’s Ladies Guild.

Employment: She started her teaching career in a 1-room country school, and taught there for 3 years. She then began teaching at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Panama, IA, in the fall of 1965 until retiring (mostly) in 1984. She continued to substitute teach at the area schools until 2004, and had also taught summer school for many years.

Hobbies/Interests: enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, teaching, and quilting
