Services Friday For
A Panama Man

PANAMA-Funeral services for Joseph Carey, 71, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Panama. The Knights of Columbus will say the rosary at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan. Burial will be in Panama.

Mr. Carey was killed instantly when his car struck a tractor on Highway 191, a mile west of Earling.

A retired farmer, he belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and the Third Order of St. Francis.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Carey; three daughters, Mother Mary of a Seattle Convent; Mrs. Mac McNulty, Denver, and Mrs. Joe Champion, Omaha; two sons, Phil of Panama and Ray, stationed with the U. S. Army; his mother, Mrs. Mary Carey, and 14 grandchildren.
