Survived by: Daughters, Donna (spouse, Dennis) Baldwin of Kirkman, IA, Denise Finken of Omaha, NE, and Danita (spouse, Neil) McGinn of Denison, IA; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Irma Weber of Audubon, IA; brother, Kelly Fairchild of Harlan, IA; brother-in-law, Richard (spouse, Bonnie) Andersen of Alaska; nieces; nephews; other family and friends

Marriage: Donald Dean Andersen; March 4, 1950; Audubon, IA

Employment: worked as a Nurses Aid at Myrtue Medical Center, Harlan, IA, for 15 years; she then worked as a Home Health Aid for Shelby County, IA, for 5 years. Following that employment, Dixie became an Income Maintenance Worker for the Department of Health and Human Services for over 15 years and retired from that job in 1995.

Hobbies/Interests: Dixie’s hobby time was spent with her sisters, quilting and going on craft outings together; they made hundreds of quilts over the years, and donated them to homeless shelters, nursing homes, and the Denison (IA) Job Corps. She loved craft fairs and frequently had a booth to sell her crafted blankets, quilts, shirts, and jewelry. In addition to donating her time and her quilts, she helped with fund raising for several events. Dixie volunteered at the Irwin Library, helping them get grants, and served on the board there. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. Dixie and her husband, Donald, loved camping and fishing together. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
