Education: graduated from Irwin (IA) Consolidated School, Class of 1943

Religious affiliation: Previously a member of the Irwin (IA) Church of Christ, where she had been active in the Ladies Missionary Group, had been a Sunday school teacher for 10 years and also sang in the choir. In recent years, Dolores attended the First Baptist Church in Harlan, IA.

Marriage: Howard Gail Mickelson; Jan. 8, 1949; St. Paul’s Lutheran Church parsonage, Irwin, IA

Employment: After completing high school, Dolores worked for 5 years for Farmers Savings Bank, Irwin, IA. Later, she worked for Dr. Blair, DVM, Irwin, IA for 20 years. Dolores and Howard began the still-on-going annual Greenridge Steam and Gas Antique Show on the Mickelson Family Farm.
