Survived by: Daughter, Susan (spouse, Charles) Ronnfeldt of Avoca, IA; daughters-in-law, Gina Scheffler of Hereford, AZ and Carol Page of Wiota, IA; grandchildren, Erin (spouse, Mike Yates) Ronnfeldt of Avoca, IA, Kara (spouse, Joe) Boro of Omaha, NE, Jennifer Scheffler of Harlan, IA and Scott Barker of Atlantic, IA; great-grandchildren, Adryan Bruce, Lauren Yates, Claira Yates and Elizabeth Yates, all of Avoca, IA

Religious affiliation: member, Methodist Church, Hancock, IA

Military service: enlisted during WWII in the U. S. Navy and was stationed on an LST in the South Pacific; discharged Dec. 25, 1945

Marriage: Clara Schuttloffel; Aug. 3, 1946; Methodist Church, Hancock, IA

Employment: After his marriage to Clara, they lived in Hancock, IA and John worked for Pottawattamie County for 4 years and drove the road maintainer. After moving to Avoca, IA, John then worked for Mez Implement as a welder. Several years later, John worked as the maintenance man for the City of Avoca, and his children loved riding along with him in the snow plow every winter. In 1961, he was asked to take charge of building several new parks and recreation areas for Pottawattamie County; he designed and built Arrowhead Park in Neola, Botana Bend in Hancock; Old Towne in Macedonia, and Longs Landing in Council Bluffs, IA. He built everything, from the roads to the buildings that are in these parks.

Hobbies/Interests: gardening; hunting; fishing; camping; playing cards; travel, from coast to coast; after they retired, they spent their winters in Southern Texas or Arizona
