Education: attended the first of his education at Lincoln #7, a one-room rural school with no electricity or indoor plumbing, in Shelby County, IA. He attended Harlan (IA) Junior and Senior High Schools, graduated with the Class of 1951; attended 1 semester at Westmar College in Le Mars, IA. After completing his service in the Navy, Ron attended the University of Iowa for 3 semesters.

Employment: employed by Retail Credit Company (now Equifax) for 21 years; he then worked in real estate as a sales manager and in telecommunication sales for Network Knowledge until he retired in 2000.

Hobbies/Interests: reading, golf, and working in his yard. He had a passion for animals, especially his dogs. While they lived in Connecticut, Ron served on the Board of the Hartford Jaycees, as well as President of the Lions Club.
