Marriage: Albert “Al” Schirm; July 24, 1943; St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, New York City, NY

Employment: Began her career at the Morris Beauty Shop on Broadway in New York City, NY. Al was a member of the U. S. Coast Guard and deployed to Alaska; this resulted in Dixie moving to Adair, IA where she opened her own beauty salon. In 1946, Al and Dixie started Schirm Produce in Walnut, IA

Hobbies/Interests: was an avid knitter; reading; entertaining; giving Red Cross swimming lessons; and time with her grandchildren; member, Eastern Star in Marne, IA, and the Red Hat Society
