Employment: After her marriage, Arlene helped keep the books at the Marcussen Brothers Trucking Company in Jacksonville. In 1950, they purchased a farm and Arlene became a full-fledged farmer’s wife while raising their children. In 1965, they relocated to Harlan, IA, where Arlene worked as a cook for the Harlan schools as well as with catering for Mickel’s Restaurant in Harlan.

Hobbies/Interests: Arlene and Kermit would join other friends and follow the big bands around to various dance halls, and continued to do so well into their eighties; she enjoyed wild card games of Pitch, and taking family boating trips to Missouri and Minnesota.
