She went back to school at Moorehead (MN) State Teachers College to advance her teaching opportunities.

Employment: Taught school for several years in MN; when the family moved to Harlan, IA, both Marcia and Dean began working at the livestock auction company. In 1980, the family moved to Clarinda, IA where she managed a gas station for a while until she again began her home daycare. She enjoyed the daycare for several years until they retired to the Harlingen, TX.
