Education: attended school at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic School in Panama, IA, St. Boniface Catholic School in Westphalia, IA and St. Peter’s Catholic School in Defiance, IA.

Religious affiliation: baptized and confirmed at the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church in Panama, IA

Military service: U. S. National Guard; he went active in April 1968 during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Fort Carson, CO

Marriage: Mary Musich; June 24, 1967; St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia, IA

Employment: After high school, Ed worked at Western Iowa Pork in Harlan, IA, and left to serve in the U. S. National Guard. After returning home from the service, Ed farmed and drove truck for Purina Feed and Squealer Feed; he later transferred to the Squealer Research Farm. In his final years, he also worked at Super Sweet Inc. and Remington Seed Company before health conditions caused his retirement, except for farming part-time.

Hobbies/Interests: loved music, and was a member of a 60’s rock and roll band named the “Avengers;” enjoyed attending farm, estate and garage sales; collecting tractors; raising cattle
