Irene Marie Michaelson was born in Harlan, Iowa, to Edward and Myrtle (Waldo) Blair on January 5, 1925.

She attended and graduated from the Harlan, Iowa, schools. On December 18, 1945, she married George E. Michaelson in Harlan, Iowa. They lived in Harlan for a time and then moved to Monrovia, California, where they resided for several years. After George passed away, Irene moved to Tonopah, Nevada, where she lived until moving to Reno, Nevada.

Irene passed away in Reno, Nevada, on January 8, 2016, at 91 years of age. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, son and daughter-in-law. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brother, five brother-in-laws and six sister-in-laws.
