Employment: Early on, Darlene worked as a pay clerk for Harlan Produce and later transferred to Seymour Food Company in Denison, IA, to be their daily financial reporter to the main office in Kansas City. Lastly, she was employed by the State of Iowa as a Home Health Aide and with R.L.D.S. as a coordinator for their Home Health service.

Hobbies/Interests: lifetime member of Shelby County Historical Museum, Myrtue Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Iowa Betterment State Organization, where she received an award from Iowa Governor Brandstad for her service on their board.
