Charles then went into the fertilizer business and owned Walnut Creek Fertilizer in Walnut, IA for many years. Chub was also a member of the Walnut Volunteer Fire Department and drove a school bus for the Walnut Community Schools for many years where he loved the children on his route and treated them monthly with donuts from the Walnut Bakery. He retired in 2001.
