Employment: Michelle worked at Shelby County (IA) State Bank while still attending high school. After she completed high school in 1982, Michelle moved to Council Bluffs (IA) and began employment at First National Bank. In 1996, she resigned from Mutual of Omaha where she had been working to become a stay-at-home mom and teacher. She returned to working part-time (at SAC Federal Credit Union) before becoming employed full-time in 2006 at Lincoln Financial Group in Omaha. Her health forced her to retire in May 2012.

Hobbies/Interests: loved taking care of her family and home; also sewing, cooking, reading, travel.
