Marilyn Hinz, 76, passed away October 5, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa after a long battle with breast cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First Street with burial to follow at the Harlan Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Marilyn Ann Stewart was born August 9, 1936 in Harlan, Iowa to Walter and Vinonia (Steffusen) Stewart.

She grew up in Harlan and attended school there. On May 17, 1976 she was united in marriage to Delbert Hinz and she was a homemaker caring for her family.

Survivors include her children, Dale (Cheryl) McCracken, Karen (Lee) Warner, Mary (Sonny) Dillinger, David McCracken; step-children, Norma (Dan) Fulton and Alan (Helen) Hinz; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delbert; and brother, Eugene Stewart.
