Edward W. Davis president of the Shelby County, Iowa, Bank, committed suicide by shooting Friday. His body was found in the furnace room of the bank building. Davis was once a member of the Iowa legislature from Pottawatomie county, and was a prominent citizen. He disposed of his bank stock on Wednesday, but his financial affairs are said to be in good condition. He was 6_ years old and leaves a widow and two daughters. Ill health is thought to have prompted the deed.
