Religious affiliation: member, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan, IA. During the years he lived in the Avoca area, he served a term on the church council there.

Employment: After their marriage, the couple farmed in rural Harlan (IA) until 1962, when they then began farming in rural Avoca (IA) until their retirement in 1990

Hobbies/Interests: enjoyed traveling and reading Louis L’Amour Western novels; was a Pottawattamie County Fair Board member.
