Survived by: husband of 65 years, Glen B Huey of Manilla, Iowa; sons, Marlin (spouse, Barbara) Huey of Ankeny, IA, Roger (spouse, Janet) Huey of Anita, IA, and Tom (spouse, Delores) Huey of Kimballton, IA; daughters, Rosemary (spouse, Charles) Chisholm of Charlottesville, VA, and Sherri McQuaid of La Vista, NE; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends

Employment: The couple farmed northeast of Irwin until 1974 when they moved into town. Velma was a homemaker while raising her children, and then worked as a cook for several Irwin cafes and the Irwin Senior Center. She also helped care for the elderly.

Hobbies/Interests: member, Irwin VFW Auxiliary. Velma enjoyed cooking and baking cinnamon rolls and donuts, and she and Glen liked to square dance.
