Survived by: Sons: Stephen (spouse, Jane) Allen of Basking Ridge, NJ, Joseph (spouse, Karen) Allen of Bryan, TX, Jeffrey (spouse, Linda) Allen of Rogers, AK and Samuel (spouse, Jill) Allen of Clayton, NC; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Rosalie (spouse, Glenn) French of Harlan, IA; brother, Dale (spouse, Phyllis) Arentson of Eldridge, IA; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends

Education: attended elementary school at Lincoln Township No. 5 (Shelby County, IA) and graduated from Harlan (IA) High School, Class of 1938; 2 years later, she attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in Marysville, MO for 1 year.

Religious affiliation: A life-long Baptist church member, she served her church in many capacities, including as a long-time Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher.

Marriage: Ted M. Allen; Jan. 10, 1942, at a Baptist church in Marysville, MO.

Employment: After high school graduation, Eleanor taught for 2 years at Lincoln Township No. 5 (Shelby Co., IA); after then attending a year of Teachers College in Missouri, she returned to Iowa and taught at Lincoln Township No. 6 (Shelby Co., IA). After her marriage, she helped her husband farm and raised their children.

Hobbies/Interests: was a member of the Corley Social Club for many years, and often assisted with Bloodmobile drives. She was proud of her pin for donating 10 gallons of blood during her life. Eleanor loved to work with children.
