Hobbies/Interests: Member, IA Library Association and the IA Small Library Association. In 1991, was named Citizen of the Year. After her retirement, Mary was Chairman of the Harlan Library Focus Group, a member of the Harlan Main Street Board, the Shelby County Historic Preservation Commission, Myrtue Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Elm Crest Auxiliary.
