Employment: After their wedding, John and Delores made their home outside of Earling, IA, where John farmed for many years. In 1992, John and Delores moved into Earling. John never really retired; he continued to drive to the farm each day to check his cattle and assist his grandson, Todd, with chores around the farm. John loved working the land and planted corn for 80 consecutive years.

Hobbies/Interests: enjoyed woodworking, raising cattle, traveling with Delores, going to the casinos, and spending time with his family
