Education: attended Harlan (IA) Community High School and graduated with the class of 1957. Maxine was a cheerleader in high school and kept that enthusiasm and spirit for everyone in her life.

Employment: After high school, she began employment as a secretary for R. C. Booth Enterprises, later becoming an owner of the company. In 1981, she began taking care of her mother who had been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Hobbies/Interests: Maxine was a lifelong Harlan resident but she loved to travel. She attended several World Series and would hunt for antiques wherever she went. Maxine assisted Galen in selling many of their antiques on eBay; she also enjoyed using her computer to keep in touch with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing golf.
