Survived by: Daughter, Helene Peterson (spouse, Dick) of Peoria, IL; sons, Larry Olsen (spouse, Sally) of Treynor, IA and Harry Olsen (spouse, Kay) of Glenwood, IA; brother, Doug Christensen (spouse, JoAnn) of Estherville, IA; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-laws, Ron Olsen (spouse, Beverly) and Stan Olsen (spouse, Mary Ann), all living in Omaha, NE; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and former students

Predeceased by: Parents, Thomas and Martha (nee Rold) Christensen; husband, Erik (deceased June 17, 1997); infant daughter, Arlene; sister, Arlene.

Education: graduated from Harlan (IA) High School, Class of 1933; attended Ottawa University in Kansas for 2 years. She later graduated from Dana College in May 1965.

Marriage: Erik A. Olsen, April 24, 1943, Papillion, NE

Employment: After attending 2 years of college, Muriel taught in country schools in Cuppy’s Grove, IA. After completing her degree at Dana College, she was a teacher In the Walnut, Hancock and Avoca school areas until her retirement.

Hobbies/Interests: enjoyed reading, gardening, playing solitaire, working crossword puzzles and visiting with her many friends at Peace Haven as well as visits from her former students. She enjoyed activities which involved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
