CONNIE F. WALTER, 65, of Exira, died Sat., July 21st, at the Exira Care Center. Celebration of Life Memorial Services for CONNIE WALTER will be held 10:30-a.m. Thu., July 26th, at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira.

Burial will be in the Brighton Township Cemetery in Marne.

CONNIE WALTER is survived by:
Her brothers – Edwin Jensen, Jr. (& wife Edwina), and Gary (Elaine) Jensen, all of Atlantic;
Other relatives, and friends.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services for 65 year old Connie F. Walter of Exira will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, July 26 at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira with burial in the Brighton Township Cemetery in Marne. Connie passed away on Saturday, July 21 at the Exira Care Center. Survivors include her brothers: Edwin Jr (Edwina) Jensen and Gary (Elaine) Jensen all of Atlantic; 2 Nieces; 2 Nephews; 5 Great Nieces and Nephews; numerous cousins and friends. Kessler Funeral Home in Exira is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:
Connie Faye Walter, the daughter of Edwin Herman and Norabelle P. Christensen Jensen, was born November 21, 1946 at her parents’ home in Exira, Iowa and died July 21, 2012 at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at age of 65 years, and 8 months. Connie was baptized and confirmed at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira, Iowa. She attended Exira Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1965. She attended classes and became a nurse’s aide and was employed at several area nursing homes. Later she attended additional classes and was certified as a Medical Aide. She continued working at the nursing homes. Later she owned and operated C & C Restaurant in Lyman, Iowa for a short time. On March 20, 2000 she was united in marriage to Paul Walter at the family home on the farm north of Atlantic, Iowa. Connie then helped Paul operate the farm. Paul died in February of 2008. Connie lived on the farm for a short time then bought a home in Exira where she lived until moving to the Exira Care Center in September of 2011. Connie was a member of the Marne Red Hat’s and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Exira, Iowa. She loved animals especially her dog Cuddles and her cats Winnie and Pooh Bear. Connie was preceded in death by her husband Paul Walter; her parents; her cousins: Morris (Moe) Michaelsen, Tim Christensen, Jerene Andersen; numerous aunts and uncles. Survivors include her brothers: Edwin, Jr. and wife Edwina Jensen; Gary and wife Elaine Jensen all of Atlantic, Iowa; her nieces and nephews: Gina and husband David Wesson of Omaha, Nebraska; Tammy Kirk of Springfield, Missouri; Jason and wife Tammy Jensen of Elk Horn, Iowa; Scott and wife Amber Jensen of Atlantic; 5 great nieces and nephews; her cousins: Joann and husband Lee Thompson of Exira, Iowa; Nancy and husband Dallas Munch of Exira; Steve and wife Linda Christensen of Atlantic; Deanna and husband Gary Nissen of Audubon, Iowa; Debbie and husband Tim Osbar of Bartersville, Oklahoma; numerous other relatives and friends.

Service:
Celebration of life memorial services will be conducted by Pastor Leon Hodges on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at 10:30 A.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, Iowa.

Cemetery:
Inurnment will be in the Brighton Township Cemetery in Marne.
