Funeral services for 57 year old Bobby R. Blake of Atlantic will be held at 10:30am on Friday, June 15 in the Cass County Community Building in Atlantic. Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery. Bobby passed away on Saturday, June 9 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen blake of Atlantic. The Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic is in charge of arrangements where open visitation will be held from 8am to 5pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, June 12th, 13th, and 14th with family visitation being held from 5 to 7pm on Thursday, June 14th.

BOBBY RAY BLAKE, 57, a long-time resident of Atlantic, died Sat., June 9th, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic. Funeral services for BOBBY BLAKE will be held 10:30-a.m. Fri., June 15th, at the Cass County Community Center in Atlantic. Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic has the arrangements.

An open visitation will be held from 8am-5pm Tue., Wed. & Thursday (June 12th, 13th & 14th at the funeral home, with an additional visitation from 5-7pm Thursday.

Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.

BOBBY RAY BLAKE

Bobby Blake, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away at the Cass County Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the age of 57 years.
Bobby Ray, the son of James Arthur and Evelyn Paulyne Johnson Blake, was born February 22, 1955 in San Angelo, Texas. As a child, he spent time in Okinawa. He attended school in Lenox and Atlantic, Iowa and furthered his education at Trinity College of the Bible Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana.

Bobby has been a longtime Atlantic resident and recently also resided in Lenox, Iowa. He was employed at Michael's Foods in Lenox and also in the Lenox police department. He has spent his life in law enforcement, many years of which were in serving in the Atlantic Police Department.

On October 8, 2004, Bobby was united in marriage to Kathleen Ann Coan-Crespo in Atlantic, Iowa. He was previously married to Karen Sue (Conklin) Hoff in 1973.

Bobby enjoyed golfing, fishing, martial arts and Bible study and was a member of the Atlantic Evangelical Free Church. Bobby's favorite time was spent with his wife and family and his most memorable trip was to California and to Florida in 2007 to meet his new in-laws.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Atlantic; his children, Rachel Blake (Rob Jefferson) of Philadelphia, PA, Renee Blake of Omaha, NE, Ryan Blake of Iowa City, IA and step son, Chris Crespo of Atlantic, IA; step mother, Martha Blake of AK; siblings, Jymi (Tim) Sickles of AK; Danny (Angi) Blake of AZ, Vanessa (Tim) Schaffer of TX, Bill (Denise) Blake of AZ, Glenda "Skeet" (Randy) Flaherty of Osceola, IA, Wanda Collins of MO, Marsha McKeown of MI; sisters-in-law, Colleen (Williams) Gulley and Heather (Rik) Tarnoff of CA; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, James and Paulyne Blake; daughter, Rebecca Lynn Blake, brother-in-law, Mike McKeown and nephew, Todd McKeown.

There will be open visitation at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The family will meet with friends Thursday evening, June 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home. Services for Bobby will be Friday morning, June 15, at 10:30 at the Cass County Community Building in Atlantic.

Officiating will be: Pastor Don McLean of the Evangelical Free Church in Atlantic; Burdette J. L. Roland of L'Abri Fellowship Ministry in Rochester, MN; and Pastor James W. Roland of Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake, IA. The committal service will include the Atlantic Law Enforcement Honor Guard and interment will take place in the Atlantic Cemetery.
