DENISON, Iowa -- Judy Pauley, 55, of Denison died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. Private family graveside services will be in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a parish vigil service at 2 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison.

She passed away on Sunday, February 19 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison. Mass of Christian Burial for 55 year old Judy Pauley of Denison will be held at 10:30am on Monday, February 27 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison with a private family burial in the Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. She passed away on Sunday, February 19 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison. Survivors include her parents, Ervin and Thelma Pauley of Denison; 4 siblings: Maria (Jeff) Muhlbauer of Manilla; J.R. Pauley, Tom (Kim) Pauley, and John Pauley all of Denison; 13 nieces and nephews; 1 Great-Niece; 1 Great-Nephew; and a host of other relatives and many friends. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call from 2 to 8pm on Sunday, February 26 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison where a Parish Vigil Service will begin at 2pm.

Judy A. Pauley, 55 of Denison, died Sunday, February 19, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison.

Friends may call from 2 until 7 p.m., Sunday, February 26, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison where a Parish Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m.

Survivors include her parents, Ervin and Thelma Pauley, of Denison; three brothers: J.R. Pauley, Tom Pauley, and John Pauley, all of Denison; and one sister, Maria Muhlbauer, of Manilla.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Judy's favorite charity, her church, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison.

Judy Pauley was born in Harlan, Iowa, February 20, 1956, the daughter of Ervin and Thelma Lickteig Pauley. She was raised on the farm north of Defiance and received her education in the Manilla Schools from which she graduated with the Class of 1974. Following high school Judy attended Grandview College in Des Moines, Iowa, on a gymnastics scholarship where she received her life debilitating injury September 19, 1975, ending her college career.

After her injury and rehabilitation Judy made her home with her parents on the farm at Defiance, moving to Denison in 1997 to a new home that would better accommodate Judy’s needs.

In the mornings Judy enjoyed listening to Christian Radio and watching Christian Television programs and at 5 pm you could find her in her patio having a Busch-Lite. She enjoyed following her nieces and nephews activities and visiting with everyone, especially at the Denison Livestock Auction. During the last three years a little angel named Tim Curnyn came to Judy that opened a whole new chapter in her life of traveling, electronic motor scooter, walks in the park and introducing her to Facebook. Judy will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her wonderful smile and upbeat attitude.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison.

Judy died Sunday evening, February 19, 2012, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 55 years, 11 months and 29 days.

Those remaining to cherish her memory include her parents, Ervin and Thelma Pauley of Denison, Iowa; four siblings: J.R. Pauley of Denison, Iowa, Maria (Jeff) Muhlbauer of Manilla, Iowa, Tom (Kim) Pauley, and John Pauley of Denison, Iowa; 13 nieces and nephews; 1 great niece; 1 great nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.
