Funeral services for William H. Stoltenberg, 81, Durant, were held Nov. 16, 1996 at Zion Lutheran church in Wilton, with Pastor Keith Speaks and Rev. Earl Moermond officiating. Linda Timmsen was the organist. Pallbearers were William and Douglas Stoltenberg, Mike Hall, Michael O'Melia, Scott Seligman and Gary Moeller. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Stoltenberg died Nov. 13 at the Good Samaritan Center in Davenport.

The son of William and Lenora Wulff Stoltenberg, he was born July 28, 1915 in Davenport. He married Mary G. Thompson Oct. 21, 1938 in Davenport.

Mr. Stoltenberg farmed in Scott county from 1947 to 1980, when he retired. He drove a school bus for the Durant district for 21 years, retiring in 1980.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran church in Wilton and the Fellowship League. He was the current president of the Durant Senior Citizens and a member of Sunset Lakes Camping Resort in Joslin, Ill.

Mr. Stoltenberg is survived by his wife; 4 sons, Donald and his wife Shirley Stoltenberg, Eldridge; Robert and his wife Pat Stoltenberg, Rock Falls, Ill.; Kenneth and his wife Diana Stoltenberg, Davenport; and Richard and his wife Janice Stoltenberg, Stockton; a sister, Betty (Mrs. Leon) Wahl, Orion, Ill.; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Temple.

Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran church.
