Funeral services for Velma Lilienthal, 84, Durant, were held June 10, 1995 at Gloria Dei Lutheran church in Durant, with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. Mabyn Fox was the organist and Henry Bentley sang. Pallbearers were Jim, John and Bob Lilienthal, Joe and Jerry Broders and Ron Lehman. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.
Mrs. Lilienthal died June 7 at Genesis East in Davenport.
The daughter of Herman and Rose Schult Paustian, she was born Oct. 1, 1910 in Scott county. She married Edwin Lilienthal Feb. 19, 1930 in Davenport. He died March 5, 1971.
Mrs. Lilienthal was a homemaker. She and her husband farmed in Scott county for 31 years, retiring and moving to Durant in 1961.
She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran church in Durant, the Durant Senior Citizens and the Durant Widows Club. She enjoyed playing cards and baking.
Mrs. Lilienthal is survived by a son, Dale and his wife Joan, Durant; a daughter, Bonnie Broders, Stockton; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Valeria Stark.
Memorials may be made to the Durant ambulance of the Gloria Dei Lutheran church.
