Funeral services for Eugene J. Kuehl, 63, Durant, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 10, 1994 at Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport. Edith Meier is the organist and Ron May is the soloist. Pallbearers are Scott Sanders, Duane Minnaert, Chad Ketelsen, Ross Ketelsen, Jon Ketelsen and Joe Slater. Honorary bearers are Dexter DeWulf, Chase Sanders, Lloyd Johansen, Gary Schmidt, Larry Guyer and Lawrence Lilienthal. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
Mr. Kuehl died Aug. 6 at Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport.
The son of John J. and Rose Keller Kuehl, he was born Nov. 10, 1930 in McCausland. He married Marguerite Altermatt Oct. 6, 1956 in Davenport.
Mr. Kuehl was a farmer in Cleona township, Scott county, all of his life. He was a member of the Stockton Coop.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War.
Mr. Kuehl collected farm caps and enjoyed his grandchildren, his family and visiting neighbors.
He is survived by his wife; 2 daughters, Jan Kuehl and Julie Kuehl, both of Davenport; 2 sons, Jim Kuehl, Stockton and Jeff Kuehl, Wilton; 5 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Rose (John J.) Kuehl, DeWitt; and 3 sisters, Betty Selkowitz, Bettendorf; Marilyn (Mrs. Eugene) Minnaert, Dixon; and Shari (Mrs. Lennis) Ketelsen, Port Byron, Ill. He was preceded in death by his father, an infant daughter and an infant grandson.
